Orientation is designed to assist all new Michigan Tech students living on or off campus, and is required for new transfer and exchange students. We recongnize that transfer students bring additional skills and experiences with them to Tech, and have somewhat different needs than first-year students. For this reason, Michigan Tech sponsors a specialized Transfer and Exchange Orientation. Transfer and exchange students entering Michigan Tech with over 30 earned college credit hours may either complete an online orientation program, or may attend a one-day, on-campus orientation session. If you are transfering to Michigan Tech with 30 or fewer credit hours, you are required to attend the week-long orientation program. All transfer and exchange students meeting the credit hour requirement will receive more information soon in the mail about Transfer Orientation.
The online transfer student Orientation program will be available throughout the summer to assist those students who have attended another college or university prior to Michigan Tech. This site provides Michigan Tech specific policies and procedures, helpful links, and directs you to many important campus resources. Familiarizing yourself with the information in this online module will help prepare to for a smooth transition to the Michigan Tech community. The online transfer student Orientation module will be located on Blackboard. You will be able to log in to Blackboard using your ISO username and password (the same as your Huskymail). Check back soon for more details!
NOTE: Transfer Student Orientation for the Fall 2008 semester will take place on Friday, August 29 from 8:30am to 4:00pm. Registration will take place in DOW 641.
