Learning Communities are unique residence hall living
areas designed to enhance your life at Michigan Tech.
These communities bring together programming with
additional peer staff to help students achieve academic and
personal success. If you are interested in living in one of
the following Learning Communities, check the appropriate
box on your residence hall application:
- Computer Science Learning Community (CSLC)
- First-Year Experience (FYE)
- Forest Resources and Environmental Science Learning Community (FRES, or Tree House)
- International House (I-House)
- Leadership Learning Community (LLC)
- Summit (formerly known as Healthy Living House)
- Visual and Performing Arts Learning Community (VPA)
“The Leadership Learning Community is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a
place where students learn how to be better leaders. We get involved on
campus and in the community, and everyone gets a chance to take charge
and introduce their ideas and goals.”
–Christine Dempsey, third-year, civil engineering
