Logging On
When you were admitted to Michigan Tech, you were sent
an Action Packet which included information regarding
your Michigan Tech ID number (M number), username, ISO
password, and email address.
- Your username and ISO password are necessary to log on to the Husky Hub, HuskyMail email account, and Banweb.
- To log on to your Husky Hub, go to www.huskyhub.mtu.edu.
- Your Michigan Tech email address is your official email address while you are a student at Michigan Tech and is where we will send important messages. Many offices at Michigan Tech will only communicate with you online. Notification of your fall class schedule and billing statement will be available only through your HuskyMail account.
- Banweb is Michigan Tech’s online student information system. You can log on to Banweb to check your financial aid information, view your midterm and semester grades, access your transcripts, register for classes, and more. Banweb can also be accessed through the Husky Hub, so be sure to check your HuskyMail and Husky Hub frequently throughout the summer.
If you have misplaced your log-in information or have questions about the Husky Hub or HuskyMail, contact the Admissions Office at 888-688-1885 or email mtu4u@mtu.edu.
Your M Number
Your Michigan Tech ID number is called your M number.
You will need this secure identification number for many
things on campus, including:
- As your initial sign-on password on the Husky Hub
- To obtain your Tech Express ID card at Orientation
- To utilize services at many administrative offices on campus (like Financial Aid and Records and Registration)
- To fill out campus forms
- To take tests or exams in classes that use “bubble sheets”
- To pay your bill online via e-check Because you will need to use your Michigan Tech ID number (M number) often during your time here as a student, you should memorize this number before arriving for Orientation.
You’ve Got Mail!
Your HuskyMail can be accessed through the Husky Hub
at www.huskyhub.mtu.edu.

It is very important that, when you are
communicating via email with offices and
departments at Michigan Tech, you send
email from your Michigan Tech HuskyMail
account, not your personal email account.
Be sure to include your full name and M
number in all email correspondence to
ensure prompt and accurate responses.
Husky Hub
Don’t forget to log on to the Husky Hub on a regular basis. Here, you can get updated, personalized information on your class schedule, financial aid, housing, and more. Start making friends on Rendezvous (a site similar to Facebook, but available only to accepted Michigan Tech students), and post your questions to the discussion forums. You’ll find everything you need to make a smooth transition to Tech by logging on at www.huskyhub.mtu.edu.
Safety First Alert
Students are strongly encouraged to participate in
Michigan Tech’s Safety First Alert communication service,
which allows them to receive emergency and
time-sensitive notifications via voice, email, and text
message. Students are prompted to sign up (or opt out)
during Orientation. For more information, visit
www.mtu.edu/safetyfirstalert.
