Where are you from?
I am from Shelby Township, Michigan. It's in the suburbs of Detroit, about an hour north of the city.

Undergraduate Major?
I am a Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Mathematics double major. My minors are French and German.

What are you currently involved with at Michigan Tech?
I am currently a member of the American Chemical Society and part of a radio drama that is recording. I am also a Math and Chemistry Learning Centers coach, and I love planning Orientation!

Why do you enjoy being a part of the Orientation program?
I love seeing the first-year students that I've led in the past become successful. I still see many of the students that have been on my orientation teams in the past around campus, and it never gets old to see them do well!

What is your favorite thing to do at Michigan Tech?
I would have to say acting. That, or broomball/skiing/other winter activities. I've been in 4 productions during my time at Michigan Tech, and I've had a blast in each and every one. Somehow the cast for each play gets better and better every time.

Don't get me wrong, though, there's a lot about Michigan Tech that I love... :P

What has been your favorite class that you have ever taken?
Biomolecular Chemistry. It was the first class that I took that was specific to my major, and I loved it. I did well, my professor was really good, and it was the first time that I can remember being truly interested in what I was learning. That's when I realized that what I had chosen for a major is really what I want to persue in life. It's a great feeling.

Any advice for new students?
Get involved in as much as you possibly can... while staying sane, of course. Michigan Tech has so much more to offer than just classes. With over 200 student organizations and more being made every semester, there's no reason why everyone can't find something they enjoy to break up the monotony of classwork, de-stress, or just broaden their interests.

What's your favorite type of music?
Right now, interestingly enough, I am listening to a lot of rap and various musicals' soundtracks. It's an odd combo, I know, but the former generally has a great dance beat, and the latter gives me something to sing to. Obnoxiously, of course.
